Educational Sessions

All educational sessions held in the San Juan Ballroom – including plenary sessions and select concurrent sessions – will feature live English-to-Spanish interpretation. Headsets will be available at the entrance; please pick one up as you enter.

Select sessions in Miramar 1 will be presented in Spanish or a mix of Spanish and English; the titles for these sessions will start with [En Español]. For these sessions, translation will be available exclusively through the Wordly app, which you can download on your personal device. Session IDs will be provided at the start of each session.

Did you know?

Most smartphones include built-in translation tools that can be used through your device or headphones. Try searching “translation” on your phone to explore available options. 

If you are listening to translated audio on your personal device, please use headphones to avoid disturbing those around you.

Navigating Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico is a US territory, and while many people, especially in tourist areas, speak English, Spanish is the primary language. Here are a few helpful phrases to make your trip smoother and more enjoyable:

  • Do you speak English? – ¿Habla inglés?
  • I don’t speak much Spanish – No hablo mucho español.
  • I don’t understand – No entiendo.
  • Good morning – Buenos días.
  • Good afternoon – Buenas tardes.
  • Good evening/night – Buenas noches
  • Please – Por favor.
  • Thank you – Gracias.
  • You’re welcome – De nada.
  • Excuse me / Sorry – Perdón / Disculpa.
  • Help – Ayuda.
  • Where is the bathroom? – ¿Dónde está el baño?
  • To the right – A la derecha.
  • To the left – A la izquierda.
  • Straight ahead – Todo derecho.
