Dr. Tracie Gilbert
In Person Pre-Con: Community Building via Intergroup Dialogue in the Sex Ed Classroom
Tracie Q. Gilbert is an educator, writer and researcher, with over 25 years of experience centering the educational development of urban youth, young adults, and their advocates. Dr. Gilbert received her Master’s of Science in Education at the University of Pennsylvania in 2009, and her PhD from the Center for Human Sexuality Studies at Widener University. Her dissertation was a grounded theory on the lived experience of sexuality among African Americans, from which she developed Black Sexual Epistemology, a multi-layered, culturally-centered model of sexiness development.
