Tanya Bass, PhD, MS, MEd, CHES®, CSE (she/her/hers) is the “Foundress” of theNorth Carolina Sexual Health Conference (NCSEXCON). NCSEXCON is NorthCarolina’s only conference that provides opportunities for agencies andindividuals to share information, strategies, and best practices around sexualhealth across the lifespan. Dr. Bass is an award-winning sexuality educator andsubject matter expert in reproductive health and health equity. Dr. Bass is analumna of North Carolina Central University’s (NCCU) Department of Public HealthEducation, where she has served as an adjunct instructor for several years and iscurrently the lead instructor for Human Sexuality. She is also an adjunct instructorat East Carolina University in the Department of Health Education and Promotionwhere she teaches “Management of School Health Education Programs” and”Planning, Implementing, and Assessing Sexuality Education” She completed herPhD in Education at Widener University in the Center for Human Sexuality Studies.
Dr. Bass remains committed to seeking professional development and is amember of the NC Society for Public Health Educators, the Women of ColorSexual Health Network (WoCSHN), the Association of Black Sexologists andClinicians (ABSC), and the American Association of Sexuality Educators,Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT). She is a Certified Health Education Specialist(CHES) and an AASECT Certified Sexuality Educator (CSE). Tanya is a currentmember of the editorial board for the American Journal of Sexuality Education.
